ONE OF FRANKIE’S SPECIAL SNACKS

This is a recipe from my sister, Frankie, who was the resident candy-maker in the family.  She served this as a dip with bite-size pieces of apples, bananas and pound cake.  I remember Frankie making this Caramel Apple Dip so many times throughout the years.  She loved apples and was crazy over anything with caramel, as we all were.

This would make a fantastic afternoon treat for Thanksgiving during the football games!

CARAMEL APPLE DIP

8 oz cream cheese
1 T. vanilla
3/4 c. brown sugar
6 apples, cut in wedges
1/2 c. chopped peanuts (optional, but not necessary)

In a small bowl, beat cream cheese, brown sugar & vanilla until smooth;  Place in serving cup; top with nuts.  Preferably served with apple wedges but you can also use slices of banana or squares of pound cake.
